I used this shop to change out my Water pump on my 2014 Ford Explorer and after 2-months my engine begins to make a knocking noise. I take it back to them because I never had any other problems with my car. They tell me the next day that they inspected the vehicle, and I will need a new engine. Meanwhile they just opening the engine and replaced the TCT and gaskets that are required for the water pump. I told them I don't believe them, and they proceed to tell me to get my own technician and have him inspect the vehicle for any errors that they committed. I'm lost at words because my 2014 ford explorer only has 84,000 miles and your telling me now that after they worked on it, i all of a sudden need a new engine? in addition to paying them over $3,800 dollars now i need a new vehicle which will cost $10 to $15,000. Please folks stay FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY PERFORM SHADY WORK AND WILL NEVER OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKES OR AT LEAST FULLY HELP FIND OUTY WHAT WENT WRONG.

I would like to provide an update to the review that was left previously. I went to this shop to have my water pump replaced on my 2014 ford explorer. Honest 1 replaced the pump and tensioners and the entire kit that is required. 2-months later, i began having a very loud knocking sound which resulted in me returning to Honest 1 to have them look at the problem. I told them i believe it has to do with the timing chain. They told me their mechanic said it was a wrist pin (Which a did not believe). So i decided to go to another shop which informed me that it most definitely is the noise from the previous work that was performed on the vehicle. 4-months later i call back and found out Honest 1 has been doing some employee renovations and they hired a new Manager named Justin. He received my call with humility and understanding. I told him my car needs to be corrected because I can't drive it and you guys were the last ones to work on it. After (2) more additional weeks, finally my car is fixed, and they have redone the work that was replaced wrongly. I just want to say thanks for listening and correcting the issue.

Mr. Redd, We have that you returned on June 28th for us to check our work from early March. Our technician confirmed all work done was working as expected, with no oil leaking onto the spark plugs, as you had indicated. The noise that was mentioned was identified to be a Wrist Pin issue - which is an internal issue with piston pin. This area is in the center of the engine and not where the work was performed on the timing belt / water pump replacement. The source for a Piston Pin Knock can be caused by a worn or loose piston pin, worn bushing or lack of oil. It was notated that your vehicle has an oil leak while in for service on March 3, 2023, and you deferred (declined) the service to identify the source of the leak. On your visit on March 4, 2021, it was also noted that there were oil leaks with your vehicle. We have a 3-year and 36,000-mile Nationwide Warranty on the repairs that we perform. If you would like to discuss it further, please call Gregg (Owner) on 704-846-9200.

My appointment was at 3:00 for vehicle inspection. At 4:25 I asked the man at the desk when my car was going to be ready. He looked around and saw that the paperwork had been put on another chair which showed that the inspection was over. No one bothered to notify me so I sat there I don’t know how much longer than I needed to be.

I called at the last minute to have the car looked at because my steering wheel was shaking and I had to drive to Raleigh that afternoon. It was a pleasure meeting Julian. He was professional and friendly. My car was ready to drive, after multiple issues had been addressed, much sooner than I thought it would be. Thank you so much!

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry for your service experience. Your comments help us improve our process and we will do better in the future. We appreciate your business.

I had an issue with my car stalling out getting onto the entrance ramps of highways (which is terrifying in Charlotte). I took my car there and the next day, they said that it was a sensor, it's been replaced and it's good to go. 1 week later, it happened again. I took it back for them to fix what I told them too in the first place. They had it two days, said there was an additional sensor that needed to be replaced. Over $700 later, I had the issue AGAIN. Took it to a friend of mine with his own car repair business. He sent me a picture of the sensor that was supposedly replaced. It was an original FORD part and definitely more than a few months old. So basically, I spent $700 for them to tell me they replaced a sensor when they didn't. 'Honest'...they're either anything but that, or they're stupid. Either way, I'd steer clear.
